Our story

More than a barbershop

The Brier was established in September of 2019 by David Catale, built out of the things he grew up with — hip hop and metal, skateboarding, surfing in Santa Cruz, his Puerto Rican roots and years spent around tattoo shops.

Our building is home to Studio 9, a tattoo studio in back, and Humanity, a boutique skate shop upstairs — which makes this a community built around style, art and self-expression rather than simply a place to get a haircut.

Our Barbers

Most of our regulars ask for their barber by name. Choose yours and book directly.

Opened The Brier in 2019. Fades, classic barbering, and the reason the shop sounds the way it does.

Meticulous detail work. Takes the time to get the line exactly right.
